Tools Intro

Wow! What a cheat sheet huh? This image was taken from photoshopsupport.com and it's easy enough to find many more similar to this just about anywhere on the web. That is probably because photoshop is the standard. Even people who have never touched an image editing software know the name of this program.

Photoshop CS3 is more than just a program to do some pretty friggin sweet tricks to your myspace pictures. It is a powerful tool used by companies and artists all over. You can enhance photographs or start from scratch and create your own piece of art. So obviously, there are many many tools to help you achieve whatever your heart desires.

The toolbar to the left can be viewed this way, or also compressed into two rows rather than one large one. Almost every single button has more options, as shown to the left. For example, the dodge, burn, and sponge tool can all be accessed in one spot by switching between the three.

So if you thought the tool bar looked intimidating, look again! It's about five times more complicated! But don't be discouraged, many people such as myself, have taught themselves how to use the program to great sucess. Also, many schools are offering or even requiring classes to educate students how to navigate through this powerful software. Which is exactly why I am making this blog! For a class required for my major in photography at the Art Institute of Atlanta. So Look forward to the next post!
